Girls Day

Darrick had his friends fly in for the weekend for his Fantasy Football draft, so that left the girls and I to spend the weekend just the 3 of us. We decided we should do what every girl loves to do...pamper ourselves!!

Jordyn getting her nails painted
Ashlyn getting her nails painted. They both picked the same colors!

So happy, waiting for them to dry!

She sat so patiently. After she said we need to go home and show Daddy how "stylish" we look! This girl was made for girly days.

Here's Jordyn's nails. Ashlyn's were exactly the same!

So next we were on to get Jordyn's haircut before her big day of starting Kindergarten.

She wanted it cut to her chin, so we compromised and it's to her shoulders.

She loves it and so do we. Doesn't she look so much older now? My baby...where did the time go?

So Ashlyn wanted her hair cut after she saw her sisters. There were no more openings at the salon we were at so the next morning I cut it myself. I cut about 2 inches off, but it's hard to tell because it was so long.

Her hair is so thick, it's much easier when it's short!

Here's the back of Ash's hair.

Then we were on to Ceramicafe, to paint!

Ashlyn picked a piggy bank

Jordyn picked a flower bank

Here's Ashlyn with her finished piggy

I wanted the polka dots to be perfect. I had to remind myself that this was for them. It took everything I had to not try and paint them myself. I let them do whatever they wanted and only helped when they asked for it, which wasn't much.
How cute is Jordyn's hair? I love it on her!!

Her finished flower bank. They were so proud!

Then just like any typical day in a girls life, we had to get home to clean the house because the boys would be done with golf soon and be home for their football draft. Just kidding, honestly these girls love to clean. We baked cookies and while they were cooking Ashlyn asked if she could wash the chairs. Now who am I to say no to that?
Then Jordyn asked if she could vacuum. I said "of course".
We had a great girls weekend and I love spending time doing fun stuff like that with my girls. Something tells me this is the first of many outings to get our nails done and make ourselves "stylish"! God definitely knew what he was doing when he gave me two girls! I couldn't ask for more!!

Jordyn's Soccer Practice

Jordyn just started her 1st season of outdoor soccer. She practices 2 times a week and her 1st game is mid September.

Best Friends

So I have to start off by saying that I uploaded all of my pictures backwards and there's too many pictures to go back and re-do the whole thing. So this post will be from our last day to the first day of our best friend vacation.
For those of you who don't know, my best friend and Darrick's best friend married eachother. So we look forward to all of our times spent with them because I get to be with my BFF and Darrick is with his. So Gina and Pat and their 2 girls, Jenna and Jillian took a road trip and drove from Southern California all the way to Oregon to see us. We were all so excited because it's been so long since we spent more than one day or night together. Our girls were as excited as we were.

We got a babysitter on the last night of their trip here and had an adult night out. We went to Portland City Grill. It's downtown in the city on the 30th floor, where there are beautiful views of the city. This is Pat and Gina's face when we got the bill. We were shocked to see that it was over $200 for appetizers and drinks. This picture of them is priceless!
This is a view of Mt. Hood in the distance

Aren't they adorable?
These next pictures are of Cannon Beach. We spent 2 nights there with Gina & Pat & the girls and it was all of our favorite part of their trip here.

So this picture is taken after Ashlyn had ice cream. Something happens to her only after she eats ice cream and she gets so giddy and silly. She cracks us up. She wrote her name in the sand and wanted her picture with it.
Down by the tide pools with Jordyn, Jillian, and Jenna

Ashlyn was posing with everything and wanted her picture taken everywhere. Very out of character for her, but not surprised after eating ice cream. She's crazy like that!

Still posing

At a pizza place for dinner.

She wanted me to take her picture posing on Daddy's shoulders
Here's where it all began...with the ice cream!

The huge hole that some friends we met helped the kids dig.

In front of "Haystack Rock"
Pat found this huge sand crab, Ash wanted her picture with it but didn't want to hold it.

The girls playing in the freezing cold water, they didn't mind at all.

Ash was staying away from the water since a wave had taken her out, fully clothed, the day before.

The smoke from the fire was burning their eyes.
The first night Pat & Darrick hung out by the fire until 11:30pm. Gina and I took all the girls up to bathe them and put them to bed. They were happy as could be by the fire. They had a cabana boy bringing them fire wood and umbrellas when it started to spinkle.

All the kiddos ready for bed!!

The first night the hotel had a wienie roast on the beach with Smores.

Each girl had their own terry cloth robe.
On the swings in Seaside

Best Friends Forever!
At lunch the restaurant provided Mr. Potato Head's for the girls to play with.

All the girls were so excited to pet every dog that walked by.

Who knew that Vito had a restaurant in Seaside, Oregon?
It took only about 10 minutes for the girls to find the dress-up clothes and start dancing!
This is a trip that Darrick and I will remember forever. We have so many great memories and I can only hope that there are many more trips like this in our future. We love our BFF's!!
